White socks are beautiful and elegant. However, many refuse to buy white socks, considering them not a very practical thing that quickly gets dirty and is difficult to wash. Knowing a few tricks, you can easily return their whiteness and freshness to socks.

Before washing white socks, prepare a solution of water and boric acid (for 1 liter of water you need to take 1 tablespoon of acid). Soak the socks in this solution for 1-2 hours. After soaking, rinse them in clean water and wash in any way convenient for you.

If the socks have become an unpleasant gray-yellow tint, use ammonia. Dilute ammonia in warm water and dip the socks in this solution for about 2 hours. Rinse the item well after that.

A mixture of dishwashing detergent and washing powder will help cope with dirt on socks. This tool is strong enough, and so that it does not corrode the fabric of socks, dilute it in a weak concentration (for 500 ml of water, 20 g of powder and 20 ml of tool).

Those who prefer to buy not synthetic but cotton socks will benefit from washing powder with lemon. In 1 liter of boiling water, add 2 slices of lemon and 2 tbsp. washing powder. Boil the socks in such a solution for about 15 minutes. After this time, rinse your socks in clean water. This method is not suitable for woolen socks, as well as for synthetic ones.

For white socks made from natural fabrics, a washing method using laundry soap is suitable. Select the soap marked with “stain remover”. Wash dirty areas and soak your socks in warm water overnight. After this procedure, woolen and synthetic socks of white color acquire a more fresh look. If, after the procedure, dirty spots on the socks still remain, rub them with a soft brush and wash in the machine.
