A microwave oven is a household appliance that many housewives have today. However, not all of them are well aware of how energy intensive a conventional kitchen microwave is.

The kitchen of a modern person is equipped with a large number of household electrical appliances, which differ not only in purpose, but also in the amount of energy consumed. So, the most wasteful in this regard are heating appliances - an iron, an electric kettle, a hairdryer and an oven, including a microwave.
A microwave oven, which is most commonly called a microwave oven, is a convenient device that allows you to heat and cook food in minutes. Moreover, the specific amount of these minutes directly depends on the power of the device. This same indicator is also decisive in relation to the amount of energy consumed by the microwave.
Most modern devices used at home have a power of 0.7 to 1.2 kilowatts per hour (kW * h). The presence in a particular device of additional options, for example, convection, grill or others, usually increases the amount of energy consumed by it per unit time: in this case, the microwave power can be from 1.2 to 2 kW * h. In this case, the maximum rated power indicated by the manufacturer corresponds to operation at the extreme position of the power regulator: accordingly, the choice of a more economical mode will provide less energy consumption per unit time.
