With frequent use, any household appliance may cease to function normally. If you notice that your automatic machine has stopped collecting water or is picking it up slowly, you need to identify the cause of the malfunction as quickly as possible so as not to aggravate the situation even more.
Is the washing machine collecting water too slowly or has stopped doing it at all? For different manufacturers, this error can be indicated by the codes "IE", "F5" or "E1" on the display.
It’s better to start searching for the source of the problem with the simplest reasons:
- there is no water or insufficient pressure in the water supply;
- malfunction of the hatch;
- the water supply system does not work;
- damage to the intake valve;
- defect of the drain pump (pump);
- irreparable damage to yourself.
There is no water or insufficient pressure in the water supply
Open the washbasin tap and check for water pressure. If it is insufficient (water flows in a thin stream), it means that the washing machine does not have time to gain the required level at the time set by the program and signals an error. In this case, only a plumber can help.
Sunroof Lock Failure
Check if the door locks when the machine is turned on. If not, the sunroof lock is damaged, and the automation does not allow you to start water collection. A replacement lock device is required.
The water supply system does not work
Check if the water supply valve is open; it may be in the plumbing cabinet or on the water supply pipe. Make sure that the water supply hose is not broken anywhere, is not pinched, or transmitted. To do this, close the water supply tap to the apparatus, disconnect the water intake hose from the washing machine and lower it into the bathroom or other container, then open the water. If the pressure is weak, turn off the water, carefully remove the cleaning net with a pair of pliers, rinse it and set it back.
You should also check the hose itself for possible clogging. If water flows through the hose at normal pressure, there may be a problem in the inlet valve.
Intake valve malfunction
Remove the top cover from the washing machine. Inspect the water inlet valve for signs of blackening, plastic melting, or burning smell; it should be in the place where the water inlet hose is connected. If there are no such problems, the resistance on the electromagnetic coil should be measured, it should be 3.6 kOhm. If it is significantly less than expected or completely absent, the intake valve must be replaced.
Defective drain pump (pump)
Remove the drain filter at the bottom of the machine and drain the remaining water. Unscrew the cochlea and carefully pull out the pump, clean it and measure the electrical resistance at the terminals. It is also recommended to check if the wings of the pump are broken, or if they are jammed. If something indicates that the pump is not working, it is best to replace it.
