If you notice that the inside of your refrigerator is heavily frozen in ice, this may be an indication that the device’s seal is damaged. Sealers are of several types, they can be mounted inside the refrigerator in different ways: by means of adhesive bonding, on screws and screws or are installed in a special groove. In any case, you can try to replace the worn out seal with a new one yourself.

Remove the refrigerator door, lay it horizontally and carefully cut the old seal in places where it fits into the base of the door.

Remove the old gasket around the door. To do this, slightly lift the seal and carefully pull it out of the groove. Use a spatula during operation and proceed carefully so as not to damage the refrigerator door.

Separate the inside of the door from the foamer. This is done so that there is room for a new seal. The depth of the nest should correspond to the thickness of the new profile. To facilitate operation, raise the corner of the inside of the door and hold it with your thumb.

Continue to cut the seal around the entire perimeter of the inside of the door to a depth of about 6 mm.

When you have finished removing the seal, insert the tweezers inward and pull the old seal out until you see the outer edge of the resulting empty groove.

If you did the right thing all the time, you can pull out the seal along its entire length. If the seal was damaged during operation or during removal, repeat the entire procedure, starting from a different corner of the door.

Finally removing the used seal and freeing up the necessary space above the groove, fix the new seal in its place with a solid spike. If this operation is difficult for you, additionally remove the remaining foam from the gap between the outer and inner parts of the door.

In the event that the refrigerator is not new and it is not possible to find the appropriate seal on it, try to fit the size that you have in size. The main thing is that it be slightly larger than the required size. Cut one piece from the sealant from the vertical and horizontal parts and join the resulting parts together. Glue joints with Moment glue or glue with adhesive plaster.
