However, an air mattress has one significant drawback - it is easily damaged, any contact with a sharp object can lead to a hole. So how to glue an air mattress at home?

If during operation the mattress began to bleed air, it is worth considering that the product has damage in the form of a puncture or cut. It is necessary to find a puncture site, for this you can lubricate an inflated mattress with soapy water (a bubble should inflate at the site of damage) or immerse it in water (if you have excellent hearing, you can also hear the puncture site by a characteristic hiss). By the formation of bubbles, you can easily detect technical damage.

If the damage is on the velor side, it is necessary to carefully clean the pile with fine sandpaper. The stripping area should be slightly larger than the damage area itself. Then you should degrease the place for future repairs, for this you can safely use refined gasoline, acetone, a solvent or pure medical alcohol.

When buying a mattress, the kit should include a patch. If possible, purchase an Intex repair kit from a specialist store. It includes patches from flock, transparent vinyl film (for repairing a smooth surface), as well as glue. If one is not available, cut a suitable patch from any rubberized material. It is not recommended to use super-glue, it can even damage the surface of the vinyl. For this purpose, elastic glue for rubber (polyurethane), for example, "Moment", will fit.

Apply glue to the surface to be glued, make sure that it does not accidentally fall into the hole. Attach the patch to the puncture site and press firmly, put the glued mattress under the press for a day.
Useful advice
It is necessary to store the air mattress in a deflated and well-dried state, especially if you used it as a raft on water. It is advisable to clean and wash the air mattress with a mild soap solution, without using in any case chemical reagents and abrasive powders (they will significantly shorten the useful life).
