A hole in your favorite jacket is always unpleasant, but, fortunately, not always hopeless. Do not rush to get rid of a damaged jacket. You can try to save an expensive thing.

You will need

  • - threads;

  • - the cloth;

  • - glue base;

  • - glue.

Instruction manual

1

To begin, turn both sleeves of the jacket inside out. The lining of one of them must be sewn on the outside (it was from here that the thing was twisted during manufacture).

2

Spread the outer stitch on the sleeve. Then put your hand inside (under the lining) and feel for the torn section of the jacket, grab it tightly and twist it through the open piece of fabric on the sleeve.

3

Pick up an unnecessary stretch of thin but dense matter. Cut a piece of it from it so that it not only covers the entire area of the gap, but also extends beyond it by at least 1-1.5 cm on each side.

4

Take a strip of special glue fabric made on the basis of dry glue (in common people dubbed it "spider web"). Cut a piece of fabric that matches the size of the harvested patch.

5

Then lay out the jacket so that the front side lies on the table (ironing board). After that, straighten all the wrinkles and wrinkles on the recovered matter, on top of the wrong side, cover the gap with a piece of adhesive tissue. And cover the adhesive fabric itself directly with a piece of cloth prepared for a patch.

6

After that, iron the entire treated area with a moderately hot iron (no steam). Be sure to use gauze.

7

Next, turn the jacket to its original position and carefully sew the lining on the sleeve.

note

For lack of adhesive tape, you can use the "Moment" glue for the fabric (do not use superglue!). The principle of operation is the same. But instead of the cobweb, the patch must be covered with a small amount of glue. After it dries a little, firmly attach the patch to the torn place. Do not forget to pre-fit each side of the gap.

Useful advice

During ironing, one of the layers of fabric may shift, and this is likely to lead to the appearance of wrinkles on the surface of the jacket, which are unlikely to be smoothed out later. Therefore, it is better to pre-stick the adhesive tape to the patch. Thus, you will fix the position of two layers, which will greatly simplify the further procedure.
