Instruction manual

1

Once you find a puddle of urine on the carpet, immediately take a rag or paper towels and try to remove any moisture. Then prepare the vinegar solution: mix one part vinegar with three parts water. Moisten a rag that will not be a pity to throw away, and carefully rub the place on the carpet. Ventilate the room and repeat the procedure again if there is still a smell. Before using the vinegar solution, try it on a less visible part of the carpet to make sure that it does not fade or discolor.

2

Mix water with vinegar in equal proportions and pour to the place of formation of a cat urine puddle. Then sprinkle this place with soda and rub it thoroughly with a brush dampened in a carpet cleaner (such as Vanish). Leave the stain to dry, then remove the remaining soda with a vacuum cleaner. But it is unlikely that the smell will go away after the first procedure, you will have to sprinkle the place of contamination with soda several times and rub it with a brush.

3

To treat stains on the carpet, use ordinary household soap or alcohol. But it’s much more effective to eliminate cat smell using special products that are sold in the pet store. Fortunately, the assortment is wide (Zoosan, Zoovorsin and others). Although these drugs are much more expensive than home remedies, they do an excellent job with the task and the cat's smell on any surface.

4

If you find puddles on the carpet, immediately treat this area with a bleach solution. But keep in mind that it has a strong smell, which is not only unpleasant for cats, but also affects the sense of smell. Therefore, you can replace the bleach with a solution of lemon juice mixed in half with water, hydrogen peroxide or a weak solution of potassium permanganate.

note

It is not recommended to use fragrances such as essential oils, deodorants or ground coffee to get rid of cat smell. All this only temporarily interrupts the unpleasant smell of urine, it is necessary to eliminate the problem in the root, otherwise the cat will constantly urinate on the marked spot on the carpet.
