How to use peat tablets?

Peat tablets are suitable for growing almost any seedlings. They consist of peat plates pressed together, enriched with trace elements. The diameter of peat tablets is different, from 23 to 70 millimeters.

To grow seedlings, the tablets are first immersed in water. Also, in addition to water, the preparation "Radiance" or "HB-101" is still needed. After getting water, the tablets swell quickly enough and increase in size. So-called "barrels" are obtained, in which seeds will be immersed.

Tablet convenience

The convenience of such tablets lies in the fact that they are well suited for growing petunia seedlings, since they contain all the necessary trace elements. Another advantage of these tablets is the exclusion of the picking process itself, in addition to transplanting the plant into the ground. With this method, the root system is least affected and the nutrients from peat tablets will enable the plant to grow well.

Sowing Petunia Seeds

Direct sowing can be carried out already in mid-February, but it is important to consider that the plant will need additional light (12-13 hours). If it is not possible to use phytolamps, it is better to transfer the sowing of seeds to March.

Sowing seeds is carried out in previously prepared peat tablets. To do this, take any container, spread there tablets from peat and pour water. Water should be added until it remains on the pallet. Excess water is drained, and begin to sow the seeds. The disadvantage is that the seeds of petunias are very small, so it is better to buy granular ones. Seeds should simply be spread out on the surface of peat tablets, but should not be deepened. After sowing, cover them with foil and place in a lighted place. The air temperature should be 21-22 degrees.
