Mirrors not only give you a reflection of your loved ones, they are able to visually increase the space in the apartment and well decorate the interior of the room. It’s not enough just to hang a mirror on the wall, you still need to properly care for it.

Dirt, handprints are the main sources of contamination of mirror surfaces. If you do not take care of the mirror in a timely manner, do not wipe it, then it will soon lose its appearance and luster. Clean mirrors will delight the eye and will last a very long time for your home. Traditional cleaning involves three main steps. First of all, you need to take a clean cloth and wipe off the dust from the mirror surface, then spray the detergent containing alcohol and wipe it. At the end, a mirror is polished with a dry cloth. You can use special wet wipes that are saturated with detergent. By the way, soft paper copes with stains on the mirror and glass.

If the mirror is very dirty, you should prepare a miraculous composition at home. To do this, pour two glasses of hot water into a bowl, send fifty grams of chalk and vinegar to the same place. Mix the composition thoroughly, let it stand for a while. Moisten a rag in the prepared mixture and wash the mirror, then wipe with a cloth moistened with warm water. At the last stage, wipe the mirror dry. Make sure that the chalky composition does not get on the frame or the back of the mirror while washing.

To make the mirror shine, take a soft napkin and moisten in warm milk, wipe the mirror. You can get rid of stains on a mirror surface with a strong solution of vinegar. To prepare it, you need to mix a tablespoon of vinegar with a glass of water. To remove stains of flies from the mirror, wipe it with a half-cut onion and then a napkin dipped in water with a small amount of ultramarine blue. At the end, wipe the mirror with a cotton cloth, it will be again like new.

Mirrors are very harmful both too dry and humid air. Therefore, it is recommended to wipe their surface with a damp cloth during the heating season. In the bathroom, mirrors are exposed to steam and moisture, they have to be looked after more often and more carefully. Wipe the bathroom mirror every day. Excessive moisture may tarnish.

Do not hang aluminum mirrors in rooms with high humidity. The mirror surface of the steam will soon crack and crumble. And to restore the destroyed amalgam is very difficult. You can give a decent look to the old mirror if you stick on the back side pieces of aluminum foil (in the place of the damaged amalgam).
Useful advice
It is recommended to hang a mirror in a place with uniform and good lighting, then your reflection will always look advantageous. In no case do not place the mirror in direct sunlight, it will soon fade, the reflection will deteriorate.
