By paying electricity on time, you can avoid the need to pay a penalty. And in order to accurately determine the amount payable, you must be able to correctly read the readings of the electric meter and make calculations.

You will need

  • - flashlight;

  • - calculator;

  • - fountain pen;

  • - receipt;

  • - draft;

  • - money.

Instruction manual

1

Read the meter readings at approximately the same date of each month. Write down the numbers before the decimal point. The number displayed on the counter corresponds to the number of kilowatt hours consumed since the installation of the device or its zeroing. A kilowatt hour is the amount of energy corresponding to the consumption of one kilowatt for one hour. This amount can also be consumed by loading a network with a capacity of 100 watts (since one kilowatt is one thousand watts) for 10 hours, 2 kW for half an hour, etc.

2

To find out the number of kilowatt hours spent in one month, you must subtract from the current readings the previous ones taken a month ago. For example, if the current readings are 24879, and the previous ones - 24707, then 24879-24707 = 172 kilowatt-hours were consumed per month. And if the counter overflowed for a month, add a unit to its new indications (only new ones!), And only then subtract it. For example, the new readings are 00054, and the previous ones are 99870. Then, during the month, 100054-99870 = 184 kilowatt-hours were consumed.

3

Calculate the cost of electricity consumed. To do this, multiply the number of kilowatt hours spent per month by the cost of one kilowatt hour. So, if you spent 142 kilowatt hours, and the cost of each of them is 4.2 rubles, you will have to pay 596 rubles 40 kopecks. Some meters are multi-tariff. They can automatically subtract the current readings from previous ones and display the results of such subtraction for each tariff at the touch of a button. Which buttons to press for this depends on the model of the meter and is indicated in its instructions. Multiply the amount of energy consumed for each tariff by the cost of a kilowatt hour in the corresponding tariff, add the results.

4

Now fill out the receipt. It can have, for example, the following fields: "Counter readings - current, previous", "Consumption in kilowatt hours", "Rate for one kilowatt hour", "Sum on readings", "Benefit", "Charged per month". Please note that in the "Sum according to indications" field you should enter the calculated cost of electricity consumed per month, and in the "Calculated per month" field - the difference between this cost and the discount - this will be the amount payable. If you are not entitled to the benefit, leave the corresponding field empty, and the value of the "Accrued in a month" field will be equal to the value of the "Total according to indications" field. With a multi-tariff meter, there can be as many lines in a receipt as there are tariffs. It is necessary to fill out each of them, as well as indicate in advance the amount calculated in advance for all tariffs in this field. Now you can go to pay a receipt.

note

All calculations are done first in a draft.

Do not light the counter with open flame.

Do not touch live parts of the shield.
