It is very difficult for many housewives to force themselves to repair socks due to the tediousness of this process. Thread
To patch holes on knitted socks, you need to pick up threads of similar thickness to them. And if you plan to wear socks not only at home, then a suitable color.

Hook
Next, it is important to choose the right hook, which will be convenient to capture this thread. Usually the numbers of the corresponding sizes of hooks and knitting needles are written on the threads, but if there is no label, then you can check the hook in another way. It is necessary to try to pierce the hook in different places near the hole on the toe, capturing the checked thread. If the thread clings well, and the hook is free enough or with little effort passes through the loops of the sock, then you can safely begin the repair.

What to put
It is convenient to repair socks using a tennis ball or a small glass jar, stretching them, for example, a holey heel.

Start knitting
The process of patching holes on socks for right-handed people is described, left-handed people repeat in mirror. Knitting movement in a circle from right to left.
Put the sock on the front side on the ball and stretch the hole well. Fold the end of the new thread so that it turns out a loop and a small tail of a centimeter two or three. Hold the thread in your left hand with your thumb and forefinger.
Next, when knitting, we place the thread so that it passes in front (towards the hook) above the raised index finger and is grasped behind (towards the skein) with all the other fingers.
With our right hand we take the hook as a writing pen, with the bent tip turning down and slightly to the left.

Single crochet
We pierce with a hook from the front side under the hole on the toe in the place where the loops are still strong. Grab the loop of the new thread with the tip of the hook and carefully pull out about twice as long as the usual toe loop. We make sure that the tail of the thread does not come out on the front side.
Without pulling the hook out of the loop, grab the thread again with the hook and pull the second through the first loop. Reduce the lower loop by pulling the thread tail sticking out from the inside. There is one loop on the hook.
Again, we pierce the sock with a hook near the hole, already a little to the left, approximately at the distance of the adjacent knitting loop, grab the thread from the left hand and pull the loop onto ourselves. There are two loops on the hook. Again, grab the thread and hook it through both loops. One loop remains on the hook. We repeat the process until we knit the whole hole in a circle.

We knit the following circles as follows: two loops to the previous ones, the third - through the loop. With such patching of holes on socks, knitting is obtained, spiraling to the center. And the closer to the center, the more often you may need to jump through the loops: for example, not through two, but through one.

When there is one loop, we extend it to the wrong side of the sock, cut the thread, leaving a centimeter and a half or two and threading it into the loop. Ponytails in the center and at the beginning of knitting are tightened and carefully hidden by a hook in the fabric. Repairing socks is quick and easy.
Useful advice
We try to make all the loops of the same size, with equal strength pulling the thread with the index finger of the left hand.
