Cyclamen belongs to the family of primrose and comes from the Persian cyclamen, which grows in the highlands of the East, in particular Turkey. Breeding and hybridization have produced many forms of cyclamen, some are amazing in the color of the petals, and some have speckled leaves. The main difference between cyclamen and other indoor plants is its winter flowering. In hot summer, the flower is at rest, and in the winter or even late autumn, it begins to grow. Because of this addiction to coolness, you can not put cyclamen in warm rooms, a cold window sill would be preferable.

With the beginning of autumn, the tuber is returned to the ground and waiting for the appearance of the first roots and leaves.

Cyclamen is one of the very few primroses grown at home all year round as a houseplant. The main requirements for growing cyclamens are enough diffused light, the absence of direct hot sun and a sufficient amount of moisture. The plant loves coolness and high humidity, it is necessary at least twice a day to irrigate it from the spray gun. When self-planting or transplanting, it should be remembered that cyclamen tuber should rise above the soil surface by a third or at least a quarter of its volume. Deepening more or burying in the ground is not recommended at all, the plant may die from the rot that started in the tuber.
